What dates should I enter in the contract? It typically takes 3 to 8 weeks to complete an audiobook, depending on the length of the book and the producer’s schedule. For new producers it generally takes between 5 and 7 hours to record one hour of an audiobook. As they get more fluent with their tools that time should go down Keep this in mind when setting your due dates. If your book is particularly long, this will take the producer significant time to produce. When setting your due dates, we recommend sending a message to the producer asking if they have a length of time in mind. How do I change my ACX contract from exclusive to non-exclusive? (and vice versa) You may make a one-time request to change your distribution election between exclusive and non-exclusive at any time if your audiobook has been on sale for at least 90 days. This request will require you to contact ACX support. For faster resolution, contact us using the email address listed in your ACX Account Settings. Audible will process your request within 30 days from the date of its receipt and will notify you when the change is effective. By making the change from exclusive to non-exclusive distribution, the royalty rate will change from 40% to 25%, and you won't be able to generate promo codes for that audiobook title. Royalty Share and Royalty Share Plus distribution agreements cannot be changed as outlined in the ACX Book Posting Agreement, section 13. How do I review the accepted contract? To view the contract for any title in production or completed please follow these steps: Sign in to your ACX account. If the title is in production select the In Production tab; if the title is pending release or available for sale select the Completed Projects tab.Select View contract. If the producer feels the manuscript is significantly different from what was contracted, they should discuss it with the rights holder first. As per the Production Standard terms, if the first 15-minute checkpoint file isn't delivered, the contract can be terminated with no cancellation fee. The producer can notify the rights holder using the ACX message center and then contact customer service to request termination. How do I change the deadlines or ask for an extension in my audiobook contract? Due dates cannot be changed because the terms in the ACX Audiobook Production Standard Terms cannot be changed.
