TitleLearn about Ask a Question and Recaps for ACXURL Namelearn-about-ask-a-question-and-recaps-for-acxAnswerAsk a Question and Recaps are AI-powered features designed to help listeners engage more deeply with audiobooks. Ask a Question enables listeners to ask questions about an audiobook while they are listening to it, without leaving the Audible app, and receive an AI-generated answer about the content. Recaps help listeners return to an audiobook after time away by providing a brief, spoiler-free audio summary of the story up to their current listening point, without revealing what happens next. Both features were developed based on early conversations with publishers and tested in limited beta. Early data shows listeners who use Ask a Question complete more listening sessions and engagement days than non-users. Ask a Question and Recaps are only available to listeners who have already purchased or have access to your title through their membership. These features are designed to increase engagement and help listeners stay connected to your stories by making it easier for them to return to a title after a break, not replace the listening experience. The feature is entirely optional for listeners to use. Beginning in early December, these features will expand more broadly to eligible titles from ACX creators in the US marketplace. Creators can opt out of having these features on their titles starting today prior to the expansion. What is Ask a Question and how does it work? Ask a Question is a feature that enables customers to ask questions about an audiobook while they are listening to it. The Ask feature is in beta and is only available to US customers within select titles in the customer's library, whether purchased by the customer or where access to that title is included as part of their Audible membership. How do I use Ask a Question: Open the Audible app, select the title from your library, and press play to begin listening. On the title's player screen, tap the 'Ask a Question' button. (If the button does not appear, the feature may not be available on that title.)Type your question using the keyboard or dictate your question by selecting the microphone icon.Receive a response generated by AI answering your question. What questions can listeners ask? This feature is designed to answer questions about the customer's current listen, which might include questions about the historical context, something that occurred within the story, or a factual reference within the work that the listener would like to know more about. Attempts to use the feature for any other purpose may not be reliable. What are Recaps and how do they work? Recaps is an AI-powered feature that provides short audio summaries of key storylines and character arcs, helping listeners refresh their memory when returning to an audiobook after a break. How do I use Recaps: Open the Audible app, select the title from your library, and press play to begin listening. On the title's player screen, tap the 'Play recap' button. (If the button does not appear, the feature may not be available on that title.)Listen to a spoiler-aware audio summary of the story up to your current listening point (approximately 90 seconds). How are these features generated? Both Ask a Question and Recaps use AI to generate responses and summaries based on the content of the audiobook. Recaps audio is produced using text-to-speech technology. These features do not alter your audiobook production or how it sounds in any way. The audio quality and narration remain exactly as you produced them. The feature only uses content from the audiobook as a prompt, which is not retained by or used to train the underlying AI model. Both features use the customer's listening position so that responses remain spoiler-free. Can I edit or write my own Recaps? Recaps are created by Audible and cannot be directly modified by creators at this time. How do I opt out of Ask a Question and Recaps? Creators can request to opt out their titles from Ask a Question and Recaps.
