Your ACX profile provides rights holders an overview of your skills, experience, and interests as a narrator. A complete, detailed profile can help immensely when you are looking to book new projects.

How do I create my ACX producer profile?

When you set up your ACX profile, enter information about your voiceover experience, training, and awards you've received for past work. To get an idea of what your finished profile will look like, you can search for a few narrator profiles on the ACX website or check out some examples of excellent ACX profiles on our blog.

Follow these steps to set up your ACX profile:

1. Sign in on ACX.com and select Your Name from the top right hand corner.
2. Select Edit profile.
3. Navigate to Profile details and enter your information.
   1. Upload a profile picture.
   2. Under Professional experience, describe your narration experience, awards, credits, recording setup and location.
   3. Under Genre preferences, enter categories you feel comfortable narrating.
   4. When you are done, select Save changes.
4. Switch to the Preferred payment tab to add how you would like to get paid for your work.

After completing these steps you’ll be ready to start auditioning.

How do I add audio samples on my ACX profile?

In order for authors and publishers to find your profile on ACX, you must have at least one sample tagged with accent and vocal information.

ACX does not limit the amount of samples your profile can include, so upload as many as you like. Samples are automatically listed newest to oldest on your profile based on the order in which they are uploaded. For additional tips, check out this post about audio samples on the ACX blog.

To add or make changes to audio samples available on your profile page:

1. Sign in on ACX.com and select Your Name from the top right hand corner.
2. Select Edit Profile.
3. Select the Audio samples tab.
4. Select Add sample.
5. Select Upload file.
6. Choose your sample and select Open.
7. Choose the genre, language, accent, voice age and vocal style of your sample.
8. Select Add sample.

Make your profile stand out with audio samples

If you want to stand out from the crowd, your profile and especially your audio samples play an integral role. The audiobook samples you upload are especially important. Don't just list in your profile that you can do a great French accent. Upload a sample that shows how fabulous that accent is, and label it descriptively.

If you haven't had the chance to use a particular skill in an audiobook yet, create a new sample to show off. This flexibility is one reason why ACX allows for unlimited sample uploads. Having robust samples will provide you with the best opportunity to be found by someone on ACX that is trying to make an audiobook.

Also, focus on your audiobook experience and not just your general acting experience. List how many audiobooks you have narrated and/or produced. List any Audie nominations or Earphone awards, too.

We recommend adding 5-10 samples to fully showcase your talent. Focus on diversity to show off your range. Don't worry if you don't have many audiobook credits to your name. Simply create some samples from scratch, upload them, and tag each sample with words that describe the skill it reflects. The samples you upload and how you tag them will greatly influence if and how you appear in a rights holder's search results.
