What should I submit for my audition script that I'm asked to upload to my book's title profile?

The audition script should be 2–3 pages from your fully edited manuscript. It should be a passage or passages that you want a potential producer—or the narrator they are subcontracting—to record so you can hear how they would perform your book, so consider passages with important scenes or character moments so your narrator can give a representative performance. The finished audition you receive from this script should be 3–5 minutes in length. We advise against making an offer to a producer until you hear them read an excerpt from the actual book you want them to record.

How does ACX review titles before they are posted for auditions?

Once submitted to the ACX marketplace for auditions, each title is evaluated across a variety of factors—including the information in the audition listing, the rights holder’s history on ACX, and other proprietary data points—to help ensure the authenticity of the audition listing. Those that meet our content guidelines are made available to producers within, in the vast majority of cases, one business day.

How long will my project remain open for audition on ACX?

Your project will remain open for auditions until an offer is made to a producer. Once an offer has been made, your title will move to the Offers tab within your account. If your offer is rejected, cancelled, or expires then it will move back to the Open for Auditions tab.
