As a rights holder you will need to submit a manuscript of your audiobook. This manuscript serves two purposes: it will be used by the producer to record the initial 15-minute sample, and it will also be the basis for recording the entire audiobook.

Note: After the manuscript submission, it can only be replaced before the Approve 15 minute checkpoint step.

How do I upload my manuscript?

To upload your manuscript to the ACX website, please follow these steps:

1. Sign in to your ACX account.
2. Select My Projects from the navigation menu.
3. In the In Production tab, locate the title of your book and select Upload manuscript.
4. Select the Produce Audiobook tab.
5. Upload your file by selecting Upload File.

Does my manuscript need to be edited and final?

Yes. ACX is designed to help create audio versions of completed books. Your manuscript must be complete and fully edited to be considered recordable.

In what format should I send the book's manuscript to the producer?

ACX offers a method to upload the manuscript through your project dashboard for Word, PDF, and TXT files. You may also consider:

1. Emailing a Word doc or PDF;
2. Scanning a physical copy of the book and send it as a PDF; or
3. Mailing a copy of the book (the rights holder can always buy it online and have it shipped).

We recommend you ask your producer's preference as you are finalizing your offer.

How do I send my producer a new manuscript before production begins?

To replace the manuscript before your producer begins production:

1. Sign in to your ACX account and select My Projects.
2. Select In production, then select the title of your book.
3. In the Produce audiobook tab on Title View and navigate to the manuscript step.
4. Select Upload File to replace the existing file.
