If you are a rights holder or producer, this guide will show you how to receive, distribute, redeem and track promo codes for your audiobook on Audible. You can create and receive promo codes from ACX via your Sales Overview page.

How can I receive my promo codes?

You can create and receive promo codes from ACX via your Sales Overview page.

Notes:

• Promo codes are only available to rights holders of exclusively published audiobooks and producers who accept projects under Royalty Share terms.
• Rights holders will automatically receive 25 codes per marketplace (US and UK) upon publication of their title.
• New promo codes can take up to one hour to work for customers on Audible.

To receive your promo codes:

1. Visit ACX and sign in to your account.
2. In the navigation menu, select Marketing.
3. Select the Promo codes tab.
4. Select Get codes in the Codes column.

Your promo codes will now be available to share with listeners and reviewers!

How can I receive additional promo codes?

You can receive additional promo codes for your audiobooks as the rights holder of an exclusive title or the producer of a Royalty Share title.

Once your audiobook has received 10 promo code redemptions and 100 qualified sales overall, you can generate an additional 25 codes per marketplace per title up to a total maximum of 50 codes per marketplace.

Note:

• A qualified sale is any sale that is paid for by an Audible customer by either cash or member credit, and does not include Free Trial purchases or promo code redemptions in that marketplace.
• Ensure that you use at least 10 of your initial promo codes in your current marketplace before requesting additional codes.

To request additional promo codes:

1. Visit ACX and sign in to your account.
2. In the navigation menu, select Marketing.
3. Select the Promo codes tab.
4. Select Get codes in the Codes column 

Where to distribute promo codes:

Distributing promo codes is a great way to share free copies of your audiobook with fans and reviewers alike! We recommend sharing promo codes with:

• Audiobook reviewers
• Readers/listeners
• Your publicity & marketing team
• Fans and followers on social media

You can contact reviewers or beta listeners directly with a promo code for your audiobook, conduct giveaways, or instruct interested fans to contact you for a free copy of your audiobook in exchange for an honest review.

How to redeem promo codes

Follow these steps to redeem promo codes:

1. Visit
   1. https://www.audible.com/acx-promo - for United States.
   2. Or https://www.audible.co.uk/acx-promo - for United Kingdom.
2. Enter your promo code.
3. Select Redeem.

Your title will now be available in their Library on the Audible website and applications.

Where can I track the status of my promo codes?

You can view the status of your promo codes for your available audiobooks from your Sales Overview within your ACX account, including how many codes you’ve generated and shared, which codes listeners have redeemed on Audible, and which remaining codes are available for distribution.

To view the status of your promo codes:

1. Visit ACX and sign in to your account.
2. In the navigation menu, select Marketing.
3. Select the Promo codes tab. 

What is Audible’s Policy on promo codes?

• Promo codes are a benefit for rights holders of exclusively published audiobooks and producers who accept projects under Royalty Share terms.
• For titles published on or after March 26, 2020, royalties will not be paid on any promo code units redeemed.
• You can receive up to 50 codes per title per marketplace (Audible US and Audible UK). Rights holders will automatically receive 25 codes per marketplace upon publication, and can generate an additional 25 codes after 10 of the initial promo codes have been redeemed AND 100 qualified purchases have been made for your catalog of titles. A qualified sale is any sale that is paid for by an Audible customer.

Why do I see "Listener received this title free" on my audiobook review?

When a listener receives a title for free with an ACX promo code, you will see the message "Listener received this title free" in the review on Audible.com. This message is to ensure compliance with regulations from the Federal Trade Commissions (FTC) regarding review transparency. While anyone may post customer reviews, any financial or close personal connection to the product must be clearly and conspicuously disclosed if not obvious from the context.
