Music and sound effects can be added to your audiobook as a great way to enhance the audio experience and bring your story to life. We recommend adding these elements to your audiobook production carefully and sparingly, as Audible listeners have told us that they can be a distraction when it overlaps with narration

If you choose to add music to your audiobook, ensure it is an original composition that you have the rights to use. You must also have the rights to any sound effects you want to add. Either outsource your editing to a professional, or ensure you are prepared to mix and fade the music, sounds effects and narration correctly so these elements enhance each other rather than competing. Take extra care to ensure your production still meets the ACX submission requirements.
