Before you start using ACX, you need to create an account that meets your needs. The type of account will depend on your role. Are you a rights holder (e.g., publisher, author, literary agent or author's estate)? Or are you a producer (e.g., narrator or professional studio)? Follow the steps below to sign up on ACX.

Residency and tax requirements

ACX is currently open to individuals and companies resident in the United States, United Kingdom, Canada and Ireland who have a mailing address, valid local Taxpayer Identification Number (TIN), and banking details for one of these countries.

Create an ACX profile (publisher, author, literary agent or author's estate)

To create a free ACX profile as a rights holder, follow these steps:

1. Sign up on ACX.com by selecting Get Started using your existing Amazon email and password, or by creating a new account.
2. Confirm your name and location.
3. Select the rights holder role that best describes you or your company: Author, Publisher or Agent.
4. Mark the Eligibility boxes that apply to you. 

Once your account is set up, you can start importing your titles from Kindle, look for producers to help you narrate your title or even narrate your own title. Visit Rights holder checklist to learn more.

Create an ACX profile (narrator or professional studio) 

To create a free ACX profile as a producer, follow these steps:

1. Sign up on ACX.com using your existing Amazon email and password, or create a new account.
2. Confirm your name and location, ensuring you are a resident of one of the eligible countries listed above.
3. Select the role that best describes you or your company: Narrator or Studio.
4. If you are a member of the Screen Actors Guild-American Federation of Television and Radio Artists (SAG-AFTRA), you can enter your member ID.
5. Mark the eligibility boxes that apply to you.
6. Select Register.
