Be sure that your audio files meet the audio submission requirements. All audiobooks must follow the audio submission requirements before they can be approved and distributed.

Who uploads the audiobook to ACX?

Unless you’re narrating your own audiobook, the producer handles the uploading of the audiobook to ACX.

If you’re the rights holder, you'll be alerted once the audiobook has been uploaded. You will then want to listen to it from beginning to end to take notes of any mistakes or problems and the time in which they occur. Learn more about listening to your audiobook carefully on the ACX blog.

If you find any mistakes in the audiobook, you'll send them to the producer to have corrections made. Or, if the book is in great shape already, go ahead and approve it.

After the audiobook is approved and the producer is paid (if it's a Pay-for-Production or Royalty Share Plus deal), the audiobook will be sent to our quality assurance team, and once approved, will be sent to retail.

How do I upload audiobook files on a DIY project?

If you have an audiobook pre-recorded and wish to add it to ACX for distribution, follow these steps to upload your completed audiobook files:

1. Log in to your ACX account.
2. Go to My Projects and then select Claim your title.
3. Locate the book you wish to produce, and select Claim title. Please note that in order to claim a book on ACX, it must be available in ebook format in the Amazon.com bookstore.
4. Select Use my own audio files.
5. Choose territories and terms of distribution.
6. Review and accept our terms.
7. Upload your audiobook chapter by chapter.
8. Submit your complete audiobook for review. Our Quality Assurance team will review it within 10 business days before it goes live on Audible, Amazon, and Apple Books.

How do I upload audio for a project I am producing?

To upload audio to ACX, follow these steps:

1. Log in to your ACX account.
2. Select My Projects in the upper left corner of the website.
3. Select the In Production tab.
4. Locate the title you are working on and select the name of the title in blue.
5. From the Produce audiobook tab, you will see the options to upload the audio files.
