Once you, the rights holder, are ready to look for a producer, submit your title to the ACX Marketplace for auditions. Each title is evaluated by our team across a variety of factors —including the information in the audition listing, the rights holder’s history on ACX, and other proprietary data points—to help ensure the authenticity of the audition listing.

In the vast majority of cases, our review will be completed within one business day. You will be alerted to our decision through a message to your ACX message center inbox, which will be forwarded to your e-mail address on file if you’ve opted in to message forwarding. Set up auditions

If you are planning on working with a producer to narrate and record your audiobook, you will need to submit an audition script. We recommend no more than 2-3 pages of your manuscript to be used for your audition script. Visit the ACX blog for some tips about choosing the right script.

Your project may remain open for auditions until an ACX producer accepts your offer to produce your project or until 30 days have passed since it was first posted. Titles open for audition for more than 30 days are moved to the Titles Not Posted tab within your account.

To add a script, follow these steps:

1. Sign in to ACX.com.
2. When creating your title profile, select Receive auditions for my project to find a narrator.
3. You will be asked to either manually type an excerpt of your book or upload a Word, PDF, or TXT file.
   1. If you plan to upload a Word, PDF, or TXT file, locate the Audition Script section of your title profile page. Then click the Upload file button and locate your file.
   2. If you would like to manually enter your script as text, select the Enter script as text toggle.

How do I stop receiving auditions for a title?

To remove your audiobook from receiving auditions, follow the steps below:

1. Sign in to your ACX account, then select My Projects from the navigation menu.
2. Select the Open for Auditions tab. Select the name of your book in blue.
3. Select the Auditions tab.
4. Select the 3 dot menu (...), then select Stop receiving auditions.
5. When prompted, select Yes to remove the book.
6. This will put your title into Titles Not Posted and will no longer be publicly viewable.

How do I relist my project for auditions?

If you're ready to receive auditions again, follow these steps:

1. Select My Projects from the navigation menu.
2. Select the Titles Not Posted tab.
3. Select the name of the title you wish to relist.
4. Select Start receiving auditions on the following page to re-list your title for auditions.

How do I change my audition script?

To change your audition script, please follow the steps:

1. Sign in to your ACX account, then select My Projects in the top left corner.
2. Select the Open for Auditions tab and select the name of the book.
3. Select the (...) icon, then select Edit Retail Information.
4. In the Audition section, upload a new Word, PDF, or TXT file by selecting Browse or submit your audition script as text using the available text field.
5. Select Continue to complete the changes.

How do I change my audition script after my title has been posted for auditions?

To change your audition script, please follow the steps:

1. Sign in to your ACX account, then select My Projects in the top left corner.
2. Select the Open for Auditions tab and select the name of the book.
3. Select the (...) icon, then select Stop Receiving Auditions.
4. Then, select the (...) icon, then select Edit Retail Information
5. In the Audition section, upload a new Word, PDF, or TXT file by selecting Browse or submit your audition script as text using the available text field.

How many auditions should I expect to receive for my project?

The number of auditions you receive will depend on how attractive your project is to potential producers. Projects with a detailed, engaging title profile and higher per-finished-hour rate will likely generate more auditions than those with sparse descriptions and lower rates or royalty share terms. If you're looking to produce your audiobook with royalty share, you can gain more auditions with a robust title profile that will get narrators excited about your project and confident they'll generate enough royalties to make the project worthwhile.

Where do I find an audition I listened to previously?

To listen to your auditions:

1. Sign in to your ACX account, then select My Projects in the navigation menu.
2. Select the Open for Auditions tab.
3. Select the title for which you’d like to listen to auditions, then select Review Auditions.
4. Scroll down to and make sure the Auditions tab is selected.

As a rights holder, if you mark an audition as a favorite after listening to it, the audition will be categorized within the Favorite filter. If there are no auditions under the Favorites filter, it could mean that either the title has not received any auditions yet, or the audition was deleted by the person who submitted it.
