How do I sell my audiobooks on Amazon.com, Audible.com, and Apple Books?

Before you can sell audiobooks through ACX, you'll need to have your ebook already published in the Kindle store. If you need help with this, check out www.kdp.com for more information. Additionally, you must:

1. Create an ACX profile. Follow the info in the Rights holder checklist.
2. Claim your title.
3. Find a producer or narrate your own audiobook.
4. Choose a production type.
5. Produce and approve the audiobook.
6. Submit ACX audiobook for quality review.

ACX will distribute titles that pass the quality assurance review to Amazon.com, Audible.com, and Apple Books. You will earn royalties once your book is made available and begins to sell. Visit How Royalties work for more information. 

How will my audiobooks be priced?

Audible considers a variety of inputs when independently determining a title’s price, including but not only the length of the title.   

While the actual price of a work will vary depending on our determination of these inputs for any given title, retail prices on Audible for titles with the below runtime ranges have been within the following price ranges:  

•     Under 1 hour: under $7.40 
•     1 - 3 hours: $5.55-$13.20  
•     3 - 5 hours: $7.55-$15.55  
•     5 - 10 hours: $11.15-$20.65 
•     10 - 20 hours: $12.95-$24.90 
•     Over 20 hours: $16.40-$32.95 

When will my audiobook be available for sale?

Titles that meet the ACX audiobook submission requirements and are submitted with retail ready cover art, audio, and product information will be posted for retail sale on Audible and Amazon within 10 business days (Apple Books may require up to two additional business days to make your title available). You may check the status of your project by visiting the Completed Projects section of your title's project profile, and you will receive email notifications for any changes in its status. In the event that your title does not meet our submission requirements, you will be notified of any changes that need to be made.
